Noise Gate: a device that eliminates background noise in a sound signal. For example, if you are singing in a noisy room (audience voices or sounds in the environment such as instruments) with the noise - gate on, the microphone will only accept signals from your voice will exclude the surrounding sounds.

Harmonizer: a special function that harmonizes a monophonic, i.e., composed of a single note, (vocal or instrumental) audio signal. A person singing alone creates a monophonic signal, a choruscreates a polyphonic, harmonized vocal signal. The harmonizer creates a "polyphonic chorus"from a single voice.

Harmonize: playing the notes that, together with the original, comprise a "chord" or harmony. A typical harmony consists of adding two notes at the third and sixth intervals from the original. In this way chords are composed that are "in tune" with the music.

MIDI - Midi Track: Analogous to a musician's or musical group's score, the track contains the notes that each musician's instrument must produce. In a MIDI file, the tracks represent the instruments playing the song, such asthe bass, drum or guitar track, etc. A track is usually assigned to one of the 16 MIDI channels so a General MIDI file can represent an "ensemble" of 16 different instruments.

Reverb: a device that artificially reproduces or modifies the characteristics of a sound emitted in different environments and, thus, with different propagation modes and acoustics. Reverb is a naturally occurring effect that is generated by the environment where a vocal or instrumental sound is emitted. For example, in a large space (a stadium or very large concert hall) the sound will take on different characteristics than in a small space, such as a room or club. This depends on multiple factors:the dimensions of the environment, the characteristics of the delimiting walls, the characteristics of the emitted sound, etc.

Delay - Echo: a device capable of artificially reproducing and modifying the Echo effect. Echo is a natural effect generated by sound waves hitting a wall that reflects them, creating a repetition of the emitted sound. The effect regulates the speed and number of repetitions of the sound.
